Last Weekend
I had a various amount of weird luck last weekend. Turned out my tabs were due, then found out it needed emissions testing, then it failed emissions, soon to the shop it went.
Saturday we drop it off, and as we do, Scott's vehicle (an old 77 Volvo in case you wondered) doesn't want to start at the auto shop. It gets a jump start and off we go back home. And as luck would have it, half way home, (only a 15 minute walk from our house) it decided to die. "It does need a new alternator, not just a battery." my husband says as we push it out of the intersection, YES, an intersection and off to the side of the road.
We were lucky there was a sort of pull off where we were that was safe until we could come back.
Meanwhile, the shop calls and my husband heard that it was a thermostat and it would only be 74.89. "Sure, do it." I hear him say as he tells me how inexpensive it will be. Wow I mused, that is cheap. I figured it was only the check engine light as we never did have a good seal on the gas cap.
We get home and eat and all is well. Scott takes his Pontiac to the auto parts store for a part he needed that was $115 and since it was getting later in the day, he drops by the shop to pay for my Jeep and get the keys.
I guess he heard $74.89, But what was said was $784.89.. Not a lucky break.
Ho hummnn. That Monday I went had a pass retest and picked up the $85.00 Tabs.
Anyone ever have a day like this?? Yes, I am thankful it can always be worse!
And after all, this was the lovely fall shot I got as we walked home. It was beautiful! Lovely trees in our area.
